Yoko Kano

Yoko Kano currently teaches all levels of Japanese language and a culture course at UNC-Wilmington. She serves as the academic director and coordinator of Outreach Program of North Carolina Teaching Asia Network (NCTAN), the director of Japan Center-Coastal Chapter, the director of Foreign Language Resource Center at UNCW. She was also a board member of the National Council of Japanese Language Teachers (NCJLT) and the former president of Carolina Association of Teachers of Japanese (CATJ).

Short description of the presentation

Japanese and American students exchanged their short essay writings to be edited by native speakers, using Forum on the web. Through these exchanges, they developed their foreign language skills and learned and got the first hand information about their counterparts' culture.
