Keiko Schneider's SEATJ presentation

Title:Introduction to Web Resources for Japanese Teachers

This presentation is a hands-on workshop in a computer language lab with Japanese-capable computers.

The purpose of this presentation is to introduce vast information on the World Wide Web for Japanese teachers who have no or little experience in "surfing the Net". With this technology, Japan is closest ever and the authentic material is just a click away. The implication of utilization of Web pages for Japanese language classes is getting more difficult to ignore.

The presentation will start with basic knowledge of navigating in a browser (Netscape or Internet Explorer), how to make the browser read and write in Japanese, and introduction to Web sites that are useful both in teacher preparation and classroom activities. Search engines from Japan may be covered if time permits.
