Short description of the presentation

Invitation to Bunkyo students to go on a virtual tour of US.

There are many ways to learn a language. But it is never learned without actually using it in interaction. People learn to use it by reading it, listening to it, writing it and speaking it themselves. When you have acquired a certain level of vocabulary and have learned some grammar, it is important to go out of the classroom and read and listen to English as used in the real world of communication by native and non-native speakers.

The Internet is full of interesting information in English language. Wouldn't you, students of English language, like to swim out of the "Fish Bowl?" and swim out into the "Open Seas," to meet and communicate with people from around the world? If you would, join this class and go on a travel to USA across the "Open Seas" of the World Wide Web?

As we go out traveling you need to know many things. You would want to know by what transportation to get there, what you want to sightsee, which hotels to stay and restaurants to eat at. We've got to find out what time we arrive at the airport, how much per night it costs to stay. Wefll travel in virtual space and visit Tapped In to talk with some teachers and/or students. Hopefully, wefll find e-Pals to exchange e-mail with.

So, relax and wear casually to come on a US tour with me as conductor. When you arrive back at Narita, I'm sure you would have enjoyed the tour and found yourself a bit improved in communicating in English.
